Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
Maria Zizka is the author of numerous award-winning cookbooks, including the Hostess Handbook: A Modern Guide to Entertaining (Artisan, 2024). She studied biology at UC Berkeley and food culture at UNISG in northern Italy, where she now teaches as a visiting lecturer. She was named by Forbes as one of the most influential people under 30 in the world of food and drink. Zizka lives and cooks in the Berkeley Hills with her husband and two sons.
All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
The demo will be followed by a book signing with book sales courtesy of Book Passage.
